Title: Ethno-Marketing für Türken und Deutschtürken dargestellt am Beispiel des Lebensmittels Fleisch
Language: German
Authors: Malas, Nadja
Issue Date: 23-Sep-2011
Abstract:

More and more companies are using ethnic marketing because of the increasing cultural diversity within their markets and continual growing demands in these particular cultural fields. Ethno-Marketing represents the conscious attention to the specific customer needs and demands of ethno-cultural segments in the formulation and instrumental implementation of their marketing strategies. The growing importance of this strategic marketing direction is already evident by the high proportion of immigrants living in Germany. This Bachelor-Thesis refers to the Turks and German Turks living in Germany, because they are the most numerous with about 2.8 million, among all other ethnic groups. (Federal Statistical Office, 2008, Table 2I) Previously this target-group has only been targeted by a few companies, because the implementation of ethnic marketing in Germany is quite controversial and not very well developed. This is also due to the lack of knowledge of marketing experts about the peculiarities of consumer behavior by ethnic groups. While Ethno-Marketing as a phenomenon in the U.S., UK and Netherlands is now an integral part of corporate action and thought, Germany couldn’t keep up with the development. However, companies and marketers increasingly recognize the usefulness of ethno-specific communication. (Cinar, 2003, S.26) This Bachelor-Thesis should help to expand this knowledge. In the context of consumer behavior of ethnic groups are the culture and the religion as influencing factors of especially importance. The conclusion of the work is demonstrated by a concrete example concerning eatable meat and how here fore a specific target group marketing could be performed, in order to reach the corresponding target group and to apply the results in the practice.
