Title: Akzeptanz der WHO Surgical Safety Checklist und ihre Auswirkung auf die Arbeit im Operationssaal
Language: German
Authors: Gaberle, Yann
Issue Date: 3-Jan-2014
Abstract:
This thesis deals with the "World Health Organization Surgical Safety Checklist" and its effect on the work in the operating room. Particular attention is paid to the checklist’s impact on the human factors. Furthermore it is investigated whether the checklist helps to increase the efficiency of teams in the operating room. Moreover, the acceptance of the WHO Checklist among the users is assessed.
The respondents of the online survey belong mainly to the anaesthesia personnel.
The results show that the WHO Checklist seems to improve some human factors for example communication and situation awareness. However, an improvement of the team performance due to the use of the WHO Checklist could not be shown. It also seems that the acceptance of the checklist varies depending on the professional group to which the users belong.
