Abstract:

Organic farming (based on the EU-Öko-VO) aims to meet monogastric animals’ requirements with feedstuffs containing 100 % organic components. Since there is a lack of valuable protein and amino acid sources, there is currently an opportunity to feed 5 % conventional feedstuff. This derogation will end in 2018 according to the VO (EG) Nr. 836/2014, Art. 1. Therefore, finding solutions for a 100 % organic feeding is important. There are several possibilities capable to be useful achieving the aim.
The accordance of a calculated diet with the actual final product was studied in scope of this work. It was examined whether the final product can directly be fed to the animals or if it has to be corrected in order to meet the animals’ needs. The results of the examination show that there are deviations between the calculated ration and the final product, which leads the author to the assumption that the analysis of the final product is a necessary step in producing mixed feedstuff. However, the traditional chemical analysis results in high economic expenditures and is therefore impracticable for the continuous use. The quick and low-priced analysis by NIRS provides promising results and suggests that it will possibly be useful for future examinations.
